Set in the beautiful surrounds of Pin Mill, Suffolk, an
area of outstanding natural beauty, this one day
colour/black and white digital photography course for
compact ‘point and shoot’ or DSLR cameras, including
a delicious 2 course lunch and drinks at the famous
Butt and Oyster pub, teaches you the techniques of
photography, digital imaging and printing. Course
handouts will also be available on the day.
The day is hosted by Anthony Cullen BA(Hons), The
Observer/Hodge award winning photographer and guest
lecturer at NYU with over 17 years of experience.
The courses are now limited to 6 people giving even
more opportunity for personal advice and tuition.
You will need to bring your digital camera and manual,
fully charged batteries and a clean memory card.
The Day - Beginner Level
9.30 - 11.00 :
Meet at The Pin Mill Studio, coffee and hellos then go
through a set of Anthony’s award winning portfolio
pictures learning basic photographic techniques for
landscapes, portraits, action, close-ups etc.
11.00 - 1.00 :
Taking pictures using techniques you’ve learnt with
personal guidance from Anthony.
1.00 - 2.00 :
Lunch at the famous riverside pub the Butt and Oyster.
2.00 - 5.00 :
Learn basic computer skills, download images, select
one and Anthony will apply and teach you basic imaging
techniques ready for a final high quality print you
can take home.
The Day - Intermediate Level
This will have a more advanced technical and theoretical
content assuming a basic knowledge of your camera,
general composition and digital imaging.
Beginner and Intermediate One to One
Personal Tuition Full Day
A full day (9.30am-5pm) of personal tuition tailored
around the level you are at and the things you want to
achieve, be it landscape, portraiture, studio lighting,
macro, general digital photography or any other areas
of interest you may have. The price of £400 includes the
two course lunch and drinks. If you want to bring a friend
or partner there

Been on a course or two with Anthony but
still want to learn and practice more or
get him to critic your pictures then these
courses are perfect for you.
day starting at 9.30 with a mixture of critic and
praise for some of your best pictures you
brought in for the day and refreshing forgotten
techniques and composition. We will then spend
the rest of the morning taking pictures whilst
Anthony gives you individual tuition on the areas
which you are finding difficulties with. After the
lovely two course lunch and drinks at the Butt
and Oyster we will then spend the afternoon
criticing and enhancing the pictures taken with
Anthony showing Photoshop techniques and a
chance to have a go if you wish.

Beginners Studio/Home
Flash Courses
Learn how to use your external flash gun in
TTL mode, fill in flash, bouncing, manual
mode etc. and a basic lighting set up using
Elinchrom heads in a set up you could recreate
at home or in a studio. The price of £135
includes a model and a two course lunch and

Beginners (Part 2)
Studio/Home Flash Courses
Expanding on the basic Elinchrom lighting
set up to include soft boxes, lighting a
backdrop, shooting a basic still life set up
and Photoshop techniques for getting rid of
spots, bags, lines on the face as well as other
useful stuff for studio photography that can
be done at home or in a studio. Once again
the price of £135 includes a model and a two
course lunch and drinks at the Butt and Oyster.
